A hundred flies infest
An empty kitchen
A starving child cries
But no one’s there to listen
So he turns on
The old TV
But there is
No electricity
The toilet fills
And overflows
Mice have chewed
Through all his clothes
And as the sun
Begins to fade
A criminal
Is born and made
Into the dark,
Unforgiving night
A little boy grows
To stay alive
He learned “It’s okay
To hurt another,
If you will gain”
From his un-fit mother
So when you ask
How do I feel
About the whole
Abortion deal
I stand firm
Each time I say
Sometimes,
It is okay
For a life lived
In pain and fear,
‘Aint worth much
‘Round here
