Death of a Princess

She stands in her tower locked in her doom
Dreaming of a prince from another land
Feeling lonely from the dark empty room
Hoping he’s not lost in time’s sinking sand.

“My prince of love, please rescue me today
Or tonight if you really must, my dear.
For I cannot stand tomorrow away
And I’d rather die than be locked in here.”

Tears of pain stream down a soft rosy cheek
When her love is no longer her light.
As agony kills her it makes her weak.
Heartbreak causes her soul to die tonight.

“One day my prince will come” is a big lie
And this fallacy made a princess die.
