MOMENTS
(by ljlocke)

I don't believe in forever
but I search for it in your eyes.

I can't count on tomorrow
yet I await you with each sunrise.

You bring me momentary interludes
of happiness, of love, of peace.

I live out these fantasies through the
segmented portions of our existence.

I live a lifetime within the fractured
spaces you’ve allotted me.

In this continuum I can find the
you an me that has become one and
watch as it fades into obscurity.

I have to accept you as you come
as a collection of moments
some short, some long
but moments none the less.

You are fragmented pieces of my dreams
that may never comes together
that may never be whole.

I need to experience them all,
I take and enjoy what I can.

These inconsistent breaks in time
represent shard pieces of my life with you.

I collect each broken piece and wait
for the next moment.
