The Dragon Dream

Each night I have a dream so weird,
A dream where dragons rule.
A dream I even have sometimes, in the chairs of school.
It starts with a dragon with long hair and a beard,
A dragon that is red like hell, the color of fire,
Each time I see this dragon, it fills me with desire.

I dream of walking on cold grounds,
nature telling me to run with eerie sounds.
But cautious I keep walking on into the nightly gloom,
the sounds of fire being breathed filling my ears.
Then I see the dragon, the creature that brings fears.
It looks my way I freeze quite fast, like a deer in a spotlight,
I feel the feeling come back to me, and thats where I take flight.
I run and run in blind panic, scared.
How did I land in this situation? I dared.

Why then is what I ask, does this dragon hate?
blows his fire into the sky with the sound of anger.
In this dream I walk alone, like a living bait,
But at the end of this dream, I catch it like a wrangler.
I swing my rope my piece of hope,
Throws it in the air.
It lands quite perfectly over the dragon head,
Then awoken by the sound of buzzing,
I come out of my nightly dream, enough said.

The day then starts with a bang, my dream forgotten.
But I know quite well, the dragon dream has not rotten.
Tonight I will go back to bed to find my dragon friend,
For together in this world afar we will fight and defend.

My dragon friend has become my greatest entertainment,
In the math class, on the grounds,
all I hear are the lovely dragon sounds

Till tonight my dragon friend,
then we can go back to being all pretend.
