Holding Hands With No One

Taking pictures of every bruise
Doctors peering everywhere
A second violation
That's the direct reaction to the first
Can you feel it, can you sense it?
The deterioration of a lonesome mind.

No one is beside her, no one hold s her hand
No one comforts her as she bears this exam.
Her children are gone as her life further unravels.
No one screams why when the cops stop looking
No one says no when PIs act as bookies.

She holds her breath and bites her tongue
She shuts down the part of her mind that knows what's going on.
Her boyfriend calls her a whore,
He doesn't know what happens in a victim's mind.
He just goes to the bar to get his brain wet.
No one around her has a true clue,
And holding hands with no one can't get you through.
