The threads hang so delicately
So fragile to the touch
Don't hold to firmly
Incase it suddenly snaps
That would be such a shame
Something so beautiful
Broken by a careless brush
Because nobody saw its tenderness
Its frame placed upon the shelf
It had no further use
It was too easily broken
Nobody wanted something so weak
But all it needed was a soft touch
Something to keep it together
Another thread to be entwined
To make it that little bit stronger
Nobody would take the time to do that
To take that extra bit of care
As eventually that thread would break
And nobody would even notice
It would sit high on the shelf
All alone and forgotten
Until everything was being cleared
And there it would be. . . broken
