INDIGO SUMMER (by LJLOCKE)

Sitting on the beach
the air grabs hold of me.
It’s hot and humid
sand sticks to my skin.
The heat lulls me into a dream.
I dream of an intimate encounter
during one indigo summer day.
The sun, vibrant and fiery red
is an ardent lover
pursuing the ocean,
enticed by the sensuous
whispers of the waves,
wanting to be consumed
in the coolness of its waters,
attracted to its blueness and
passion that knows no depth.
The ocean flows calmly
and unsuspecting
not aware it is being seduced,
the redness of the sun grows
and illuminates the sky
it moves ever so closely
descending upon the ocean
ever so gently they kiss
the waters grow hot and torrid,
reaching out towards the sands
like a lover reluctantly fighting
but slowly giving into desire
and as they melt into one
creating this chromatic color
of reddish blue background
the sun pulls the sky down
over them like a sheet
and night falls.
