Unexpected Twist In The Final Act

I never had the confidence to keep me standing straight
Tongue tied to our most vulnerable position
I will never compromise what I believe
I will believe in this again
How can I trust anyone if I can't even trust myself
What an inconvenience this occurred silence can be
Twisted envy shatters into pieces of irony
Moving forward doesn't seem so promising anymore
Look how slim chances of survival have become
Didn't even see it coming
The future just ain't what it used to be
Youthful eyes gazed upon you while you slept
Peaceful yes, but looking back on that very night
All down hill from this point on
Your sweet face and calm breath fooled me
Look at what a gullible bastard I have become
So close your eyes and say goodbye
Fair well, so Long
