A Hole Where You Once Were

I took your picture off my wall today
Then slowly burned your pretty face away
Now all that’s left is a red sunset
And a few dead trees

You’re just another thought erased
Another hearts now gone
You’re not a princess in this love poem

The photo was wasted on your untrue eyes
Your fake smile shatters mirrors that lie
Now all that’s left is a memory
And a few dead dreams

You’re just another wish unheard
You’re another prayer unsaid
You’re another wasted image
In a Shakespeare background

And it’s better to have a hole where you once were
Than to have you here and just get hurt
