Silent Whispers

You sit there across from me,
You can't hear my words.
You look right past me as if
You cannot see me here.
You look at me, my skin my face and
You do not acknowledge the love that is there.
You cannot hear my heart's whisper to your's.

They sit there right beside me,
They pretend they can't hear me.
They wish my calls were more silent because
They cannot pretend it's not there for long.
They slyly glance in your direction as if
They can see your heart's desire.
They know you cannot hear my heart's whispers.

I sit right here, within myself,
I wish the earth would swallow me whole.
I cannot handle this otherworldly thrall,
I seem to be captured in.
I wonder why you cannot hear me and
I wish I could speak just a little bit louder but
I can only manage are these silent whispers.

Whispers from my heart to yours.
I love you.
Please hear me.
