She looks at him

Eyes full of tears

She doesn't know how to express her fears

She grabs his hands

And holds them close

Her face was white

As if she'd seen a ghost

Thoughts are racing through her mind

Her despair making her words hard to find

Why does he do this?

Why can't he change?

Why must life always be the same?


She looks down

Her tears falling to her knees

She mouths words

But there is no sound

Wisps of her soft breath all around

Her heart beaten and broken down

She cries silently not looking at his face

Why did she have to be his friend in the first place?


He looks at her sobbing white face

His eyes – hurt,

He feels like he's lost his place

What do I say?

What can I do to make her stay?

He lost her once

But she came back

She didn't want to lose the memories of them, from the past

He knew it was his second and last chance

He was trying to make up for the things he lacked

But just like that, her lost her again, in a flash

He was silent

He didn't know what to say

Sorry I make you feel this way?


She picked herself up from the bed

There wasn't one word, just the sound of the door

He messed up bad

She was gone for good

This he now understood

He put his hands on his head

And fell back on the bed

"What have I done?" , he finally said

He side-glanced at where she once stood

Trying to remember her face as much as he could

Tears soaked his eyes


He remembered a promise he made

"I'll be with you always, best friends until the last of our days!"

he curled up into a ball

regretting it all

when he fell asleep

he had dreamt

of the days of their friendship

and the days of their loved ones deaths

and how they helped the other through all of the rest

as he lay there asleep

he whispered something soft and sweet

"I wish our souls were tied together, wouldn't that be neat?"

- in this dream he was talking to her

and the words she spoke with a smile

were "For forever we will always stay together!"
