A Rose

I'm like a red rose.
So beautiful and elegant,
And ready to be picked,
But be careful or you'll get pricked.
I'll never fall apart.
Always helping people "repair" their heart.
Always tries to brighten up your day,
Never makes your day go gray.
Helping mend friendships and more.
Never ever a bore.
Just glad to have been chose.
I'm like a red rose.

I'm like a black rose.
So mysterious and dark,
Wanting to leave my mark.
Feeling like I don't fit in,
Would do anything to win.
Won't be picked because I'm not like others.
Why should I even bother?
No one wants me,
Can you not see?
That I'm one of a kind,
That rejection's on my mind.
I'm like a black rose.
