Autumn's Air

In one instant you could see everything has changed
The candle has burnt out; did you even notice the flame?
What was once so bright and vibrant has also failed to remain
The bleak winds chill my bones as my soul screams out your name

It seems that I'm lost, will I ever find my home?
With no light left to guide me, will I die alone?
I grow uneasy, the more I start to think
In the pit of my stomach, I feel my heart sink

Blinded by the darkness, I travel unknown roads
I hear the whispers of the creatures the candles might have shown
If I promise not to breathe will you listen to the cold?
Feel its frail fingers run across your cheek and bone

It seems that I'm lost, will I ever find my home?
With no light left to guide me, will I die alone?
I grow uneasy, the more I start to think
In the pit of my stomach, I feel my heart sink

Watch the crisp, cold air choke the life out from the inside
I couldn't help but notice that it choked away at you
Like the flame that I had kindled I sat and watched you die
It seems you can't survive here yet, but I will wait for you
