Love And Consequence

I don't prefer kisses
And I sure as hell don't prefer you
Because to you I am nothing but what you want me to do
She kisses a girl
She's a liar to herself
But what must I say to show that I am nothing but
Love and consequence
And inner beauty?
I am what my lover shows me
I am not what you need and what you desire
I am anything but fire
Cold as ice against your flesh
I remember that night when you felt that rush
When you knew that I was yours
And that I loved you back
When football was playing against the soft light
Of an empty home
Shadowed by alluring perfection.
This isn't deception on my part alone
It's worn on my sleeve what I want
And it shines past what's already shone
Huddled in warmth, protecting our eyes
What we see as immoral
Or informal or how we become immortal
I know that I am lost
But I know who I love
And though she is the same sex
It doesn't mean that I'm gay
It doesn't mean that I'm straight
It means that I love
And I feel
Most of what you never have
And I'm glad
I'm glad that I know my heart is broken
Because I've felt that beautiful gold token
Of affection and happiness
Because to you I am only
What you want me to do
But I love for her
And not for you.
