Lullaby

I played for you a lullaby
it resounded in my mind
the words for it I am not sure
the chorus lost in time

I met you and the song was started, at first a simple hymn, that turned into
something bigger, a symphony that bore no end.

saddened tears rolled down my cheeks as the melody did change, and all the
notes within my mind began to rearrange.

Softer notes turned into a song played in lower key as I closed the piano
lid, and said goodbye to you and me.

A masterpiece unfinished, many words left unsaid, and you as well as this
broken song
are now merely a memory lost within my head...
