The Stone

What should be said when all has been said,

The air is cold and the flowers dead?

The stone sees life and wants a part,

But life is for those with a beating heart!

Be still...

Be still...

It's just me, the stone...
------
What should be said when all has been said,

Be silent or have her words read?

Speak not, those words could hurt,

The stone knows not to assert.

Be still...

Be still...

It's just me, the stone!
------
What should be said when all has been said,

Seasons change and she longs to be led.

Sees and knows but reluctance rules,

Trust and hope- that's for human fools.

Be still...

Be still...

It's just me, the stone!
------
What should be said when all has been said,

Eons pass and the day glows red.

Stay and hope for another day,

Or roll on to find a better way?

Be still...

Be still...

It's just me, the stone!
