Writing notes in the dust on the mirror
Reminding myself to wake up today
Shut my eyes, hitting the snooze on reality
I’m numb, brain dead, the piper to pay
I know it’s all wrong but the pain is too hard
Let it slide on my tongue, make it all go away
Vampire life, that’s what I call it
Feeling comfortable in waves of gray
Dance in the night, the neon, the music
I squint and scream in the sun of the day
Give me an Rx for the demons that haunt me
Let me sleep until they bore and crawl away
They scream at my ears and I ignore their taunt
The trolls of the tollgates of a life without mercy
I pull out my pockets and smile, I can’t pay
Take it out in trade, what will you give for this soul
Too bad, sorry, I already gave it away
