Let Go

My crimson heart fades to black
As pain wraps itself around me
A familiar throb of longing
That should no longer be

My arms hold another man
He is one of love and truth
While you were one of lies and betrayal
But your chains still bind me

I hated how you lied about truth
I wanted to scream at you about everything
But it's not my place to do so
It is why I learned to forgive

Forgiveness is a step
In letting go of the past
Because I have to let go in order
To move on with a future
To move on with a happiness that lasts
