The Boy

The boy that stood, alone and afraid
Never bothered to play the games others played
The one that walked forward and cried
Never knew what was behind

What was his deal
How did he feel
Was he jealous, sad
or maybe just mad

No matter what he did, he was hated
Whether or not his family would keep him was debated
His broken heart could not be repaired
Would his life even be spared

I tried to talk to him, confident and strong
But I was staring in the mirror all along
The one that never played the games others played
The boy that stood, alone and afraid
