Circles in Apathy

I used to drive this road I'm on
My town to yours.
You would wait, so patient, for me.
I knew that when I got there

We would touch
And feel the love we've always had.
It's the best feeling
That I've ever known.

And every kiss was another second,
One more moment of escape.
This was just another chance
To tell you what I thought I meant.

My rhythm is so broken,
My timing is flawed.
This time we kissed,
I felt nothing but empty lips.

These days have brought me something different,
Just a lonely road with nobody else around.
I'm drivin' around in a big circle
In a place where there is nothing to feel.

Every once in a little while,
I can drive straight enough
And feel our love again,
But every time I do

I end up right where I started.
