But we're so tense

I can’t breathe again
I’m sinking lower then before
The air is thicker here
Not sure where I am anymore

Grasping for life
for something that makes sense
I’m holding your hand
But we’re so tense

On the verge of pushing each other away
and finding our way home alone
Or falling into each others arms
to look for the shine in the eyes that once shone

On the edge and looking down
because looking up is too much work
the sun is bright and our heads are heavy.
Just easier to look where the end might lurk

Drowning in the fights we fought
and fighting for the top
But the surface is so far away
we can’t help but stop

the last tear falls
splashes water on my face
wakes me up
what is this place?
