Remembering My Past

I heard you were sent away
Finally getting help
Somewhere in Pittsburgh they say
How long till you get out?
Maybe then we can get back to the way things used to be
Back to when there was a you and me
Even now I still see your face in others
A blond girl in my work, you're one in the same
She needs help
But there's nothing left to save
I think about the holidays and how you won't be here
So I blast the radio to drown out my falling tears
I saw your mother I'm pretty sure she knows
She didn't want me to ask what I already know
There's so many times I want to give up on you
But all I want now is to see you make it through
Your brother had a baby boy
You need to see that little bundle of joy
Maybe six months from now I'll finally get that call
But I can never forget about it all
Just like I never forget about you
As I'm left here waiting for anything to make me whole again
Anything to know the truth
That you still have a heart
That you think of me in that place
That you haven't forgot how you said you'd never leave
Please remember me
