As I look out the window I write down what I see
All I see is a little girl, staring back at me
Her brown hair is matted, there are dark rings around her eyes
Her fearful expression took me by surprise
I gaze past her pale face and look across the street
Where the night sky and the rooftops barely begin to meet
I turn my attention back to the child
Her eyes full of anger full of hate, untamed, wild
There are tears gently rolling down her face
Seemingly full of memories she cannot erase
Her image is incomplete foggy and transparent
Her lifes meaning is not apparent
She looks familiar then I realize the connection
That little girl is only my reflection
As I look out the window I write down what I see
All I see is a ghost staring away from me
