Sweet to the touch, sour to the core,
A candy apple heart, never before,
Cringe at the sight, melt at the taste,
Smells of chestnuts, smells of waste,

Shivers here, nausea there,
Lullaby to sleep, fights unfair,
Sparkling water and Strawberry wine,
Ice cream cones and bitter moonshine,

Loving him now, hating him then,
Love is torture, lust is sin,
Something I don’t understand,
Why are broken hearts so much easier for a man?
