Silence

Day-light is a dream I have not dreamt
Only nightmares, dark, harsh and unkempt,
Hush now, your words will awake the dead,
Never repeat things you’ve never said,

Silence marks that which cannot be seen,
A forewarning, shading of the feeling that seems,
To be lost in your body when your blood runs cold,
And then you are silent, not a word you have told,

A tale of the tongue, hush, forever be quiet,
Tell no secrets, tell no lies, hold your tongue, keep your silence,
Never to speak, to say not another word,
Die with the knowledge you hold and all you overheard.
