I think I love
this narcotic numb
the vein of blood
the flights of fancy
the cold hard grip upon my heart
where the anesthetic falls upon me
A dream not even titania could reach
A walking nightmare
And our so called reality

I’ll never be an empty vessel
simply too much from within
just a temporary assist
a passing ghost, a touch of magic
soft moments stolen to assuage the battle

and the wind whispers sweet words
like your breath across my skin
a chill up my spine
I’m lost within myself
The struggle never ending
A quarrel between black and white
with no concrete lines to spook away the grey

dance with me now
a waltz upon time itself
can you handle who I am?
Keeping stride with the foolish ?
Keeping pace with the insane?
Dance with me now
The pulse of two hearts beating
Please just tell me I’m being silly

Stand there now and watch me writhe
The flames unseen but unrelenting
I ask not for refuge or assistance
Just a few more moments of bliss
I think I love
The pain that sets in
The burning as it consumes me
The passion behind your eyes
Console me with your sweetest lies
Rubies and pearls dripping with acid
Take my hand, and say you love me
Kiss me, your lips sweeter than novocaine
I’m head over heels
For your narcotic numb
And I think I love it.
