Too Far Down That Path

This life has been so rough
I don't know where to turn
My clock hand's cuffed
And I've so much to learn
When's enough, enough?
The tears in my eyes burn
Like a fire in the brush
Blinded, flying off the curb
All I want is the rush
Feeling free like a bird
But I'm shackled in the mud
Life s*** me out a turd
I crackle like a dud
No explosion to be heard
I'd pray to the above
But don't believe in the Lord
Instead hand me the gloves
Scalpel, cut, bleed, be purged
Sweep the past under rugs
But the demons just resurge
Here I am among the bugs
Crawling, buried in deep earth
My life's become dirt
Fed to the grinder feet first
Too young to just rust
I can't move forward in reverse
