She Was Never Worth It

stay on my side
rather than read between the lines
of what she says in desperation.
you keep holding on to every word
with anticipation.

do you see that jealously dripping
from my jaws
and my lack of self esteem?
repentance is gripping the wheel
of this forgetful dream.

Did you forget
What goes around comes around?
Yes, this is a threat
To bitter lips that aren't worth kissing
Because if you forget what you have
It is me you'll be missing.
