This codependency on what you don’t give me
A metaphor for the girl inside who’s dying just to be me
The girl outside wishing she could back step to be that girl
A piano plays a familiar melody
So clear the sound of my voice without the screaming
My face without the tears streaming
My heart before you cut it up and threw it at me
And before I taped it back together with crude fingers
Tracing the lines of all the emotion
And somehow my shredded heart
Managed to love you again
And f*** you for that.
