The Beauty in Pain

I have lost the will to go on anymore
As each day passes I feel myself fall
So with the sharpened metal I crash to the floor
One simple motion will end it all
The razor dances over my skin
It leaves behind it a crimson trail
Releasing the pain I've held within
My body drains, my flesh grows pale
Through severed veins my sorrow goes free
A river of hurting nothing can block
Death-glazed eyes lay fixed upon me
As from the corners the shadows flock
Encircled now, I can see no light
And without fear I take my last breath
Surrounded by darkness, I fall tonight
Into the welcoming arms of Death
As he lifts me up the darkness gives way
And the shadows return to their place
I can feel all this sadness melt away
As a smile creeps slowly across my face
No longer am I a slave to misery
And, though my body lies cold and slain,
In death my spirit is finally free
A perfect beauty from a horrible pain
