Heart-Break

I'm watching the wheel
that's spinning around in my brain.
I'm trying my hardest to ignore
the blinding pain.
I really can't tell
what's real and what's not,
I'm doing my best
to hold onto what I've got.
I've completely lost
all track of time,
and I speak with a voice
that doesn't sound like mine.
I've tried so hard,
I've done my absolute best.
But a broken heart
beats sadly in my chest.
I've never had to deal
with so much pain.
It's more than I ever
imagined I could contain.
I never would've imagined
that if my heart were to break,
it would cause this,
cause my whole body to ache.
