A Lie In Disguise

She sits alone and cries,
She can't stop the pain.
The tears roll from her eyes,
And in her heart, is left a stain.

Love did this to her,
It's so tricky sometimes.
Her heart was so pure,
But his heart was a crime.

She trusted him with all her heart,
And she thought she loved him too.
She wanted him to stay a part,
Of her life...but his love wasn't true.

He always told all kinds of lies,
But one of them hid in disguise.
It was as if he wanted her heart ripped in two,
For it was, the many times he said, "I love you."

Every time she heard those words,
Her heart just melted for him.
She heard sweetly singing lovebirds,
They all sang because of him.

But the tears running from her eyes now,
Were just discovered today,
For when he said, "I love you" now,
It wasn't to the same girl as yesterday.

So she sits here alone now and cries,
Because he thought it was cool to be a player.
She keeps asking herself, “Why?”
”I gave him my heart, and he ripped it up…layer by layer…”
