I kept thinking I would be okay,
I kept thinking I wouldn’t cry.
But my lips started quivering,
And a single tear fell from my eye.
Whispers fell upon me,
And filled my head.
There’s nothing I can do now,
To erase the things I’ve said.
I never got a chance to say what I needed to say.
I guess I’ll save my excuses for another horrible day.
So the skies opened up,
The let the rain beat down.
I’m still in shock,
I’m still wearing a frown.
You went away,
You didn’t leave a space for me to talk.
Before you raised up on your heals,
And turned to walk.
Then you turned back,
You faced me once again.
You put three fingers over my lips,
And told me this was the end…
