always a step behind
falling further with each stride
i cant keep this up
when every breath
is like a gun kept to my head
thats when i know
im falling faster
each time you blink
another moment missed
continually seen in lapses
of white light
soon bathed in soothing darkness
and for all these thoughts
i have bled myself dry
manefesting moments
sewn loosly together
in my mind
i can see you now
living on the verge of tears
and dont think that i am clueless
i know the thoughts that penetrate
echoing through your head
dont worry, i know it all
i see that dim smirk
begin to dance across
your tightly pursed lips
ytou think youve gotten the best of me
you once held me so close
you allowed me
to take your breath in
and mix it
making the light
that was once shared
breaking me and making this
my thoughs of you
they just haply cross me
droaning in my mind
and with this
my steps i take lightly
still falling further behind
hoping to catch a glimpse
of what was once there
but the death lock youve enwrapped
send a chill right through me
its not a loss as i see it
but another chance to catch my breath
before im looking down the barrel
towards the fun youve put yourself behind
