Last night I had a dream,
You were in it.
I swore it was real,
I’ll never forget it.
Three seconds away from finally doing what’s right,
And then the sun came and pushed away the night.
So close to what we’re waiting for,
I tried to close my eyes; I begged for more,
This morning I woke-up, my eyes hurt from the sun,
That was the exact moment I realized you were the one.
I tried to pretend for so long you meant nothing to me,
Then I realized you meant everything, I just didn’t see.
I sit here and smile because you’re mine at last,
These emotions I feel are erasing the past.
These single thoughts,
They slip from my lips.
Your arms slide around my shoulders,
They slip around my hips.
Holding me close,
Letting me know,
I hope this is real,
not just a show.
