Pillar of Lies

Why is this town a pillar of lies
lies that try to get by and pry into our lives

Some utters one, the next utters twice
everyone has spoken it maybe even thrice

They come to take over, society, man, machine
But from up above all of it is seen

The pillar of lies is ever growing with each and every remark
but one thing that can bring it down is one lovely spark

Consider your life a timber, at first small and limber
but once the world has a hold of you, you never remember
the words, humbility, nobility and kindness of heart

All there is now is the pillar of lies ever growing
never slowing

But lying gets you by, gets you places, makes you happy and you meet new
faces

But they are all...
