For the love of a pony
I remember the day I saw you standing in the barn.
The prettiest thing I ever did see. We took you home that day so long ago,
you found your dream, a family of your own.
We drove and rode you, you didnt complain when we showed you. We drove
you into town and put you in many parades, just to show I had the best pony
around.
You always were there when I was sad.
You always made me so glad . You took the Amish children to school, but
would get lose and go home. The children you left at school.
You would stand in the driveway with a look, what did I do?” You were so
happy to be home.
You were silly this is true, but no matter what I loved you.
That Sunday before Memorial Day, we got you ready for a parade. You
shined so bright, as bright as could be. I went to get you that next day,
but you lay there very still.
I knew it was time for you to go, but we all do sure miss you, this is
true. I pray that you found your heavenly way.
Now I look to the sky, when I am afraid and hope you are happy, I do
pray.
