If only just one moment
Were spent in knowing you
If all I felt or thought or spoke
Could never again come true
If this one moments memories
Were all I ever received
If life came through and swept away
And left me here to grieve
Grieving I would not do
Though fight it as I may
I’d spend my life-time of moments
Praising God for this day
And I would also thank you
For the love you freely spent
For opening up my eyes
To all my life has meant
And I’d thank you too for sharing
A heart that’s not your own
A love you gave to Jesus Christ
To worship Him alone
And I’d rejoice in knowing you
Though only for this time
For He has truly blessed me
The honor is all mine
So please don’t ever let yourself
Feel regret, sorrow, or pain
Because this moment was a gift
I count it all as gain
And as I take this moment
And place it in His hand
Then He may choose to give it back
To make our moments grand.
