Jesus' Crown

I have this favorite song I found.
It talks about Jesus wearing a crown.
This is not a crown of gold you see.
This is the crown he wore when he died for you and me.

This was a crown that was made of thorns.
This was the crown he wore when he was hearing their scorn.
This was a crown that caused him much pain,
but he knew that his pain would not be in vain.

This crown he wore made blood run down his face.
Yet still he wore this crown so we could experience God's amazing
grace.
He wore this crown as he trod up the hill.
He wore this crown when he cried "Father not my will".

He wore this crown as he hung upon the cross.
He wore this crown because he knew he would suffer no loss.
This is the crown he wore when he sighed "It is finished".

Now he has traded his crown of thorns for a crown of gold.
Praise God! Someday soon that will be a sight to behold.
