Walks in the park, my hero and me
we'd race, play, and giggle so endlessly
Stumbling and falling,I'd run beside him
Loving and caring, as perfect as could be
Rolling in the grass and wrestling, no other could compare.
As i grew, the parks ended and my hero faded
Distance grew, and differences arose
Right and wrong differed and punishment came
Hurtful words spilled onto the table, and swings came into action
Tears of pain poored out of my eyes, for this was not my father, the one
that was my hero in the park
He was gone when the first hit came
Fighting the tears i stood up to say, "Where is my hero? The one that
once upon a time took me to the park? The one who watched me grow? The one
who toched my heart? The one who was there for me through all the pain and
heart brakes? Where is my hero in the park?"
A tear ran down his face as he droped his fist
Then he left, gone for good
Now my hero in the park, that was once my dad, remains a memory
