Safe and secure in these empty, thin sheets
with my window open and the wind blowing
softly, slowly, rocking me gently to the
faraway beat of our song.
I roll over and hold tight to the object
lying next to me
and it's cold, but soft
it's just the pillow the collects dry salt
by the end of the night.
But somehow, I find comfort.
At least for a while.
In the cold, in the dark, I imagine your
presence but again; I'm alone.
I'm so empty, alone.
But I know, someday, some night,
we'll be together.
And even though we're apart for sometime,
I know you're thinking of me, of us,
together.
And we belong together.
