When I look back on my life,
I can see there's been a lot of strife.

I have an awful confession,
from a young age there has been much depression.

It is an emotion that I constantly fight.
My hold over it must remain tight.

I think at times it has gone away.
That's when I realize I'm just holding it at bay.

This is an emotion I must keep locked away.
I ask God for this each night as I pray.

You see this emotion has nothing to give.
It makes you feel like there is no reason to live.

So if you are at this place in your life,
and you feel there is nothing but strife.

If you are feeling you just want to die.
Believe me when I tell you that is just Satan's lie.

So turn to God instead and pray.
Ask him to take these feelings away.

Then you must always pray everyday.
For God is faithful and he will stay,
helping you keep the depression away.
