Have you ever felt like the sky was reaching out towards you?
You wanted to touch it so badly
But found your whole body chained to the earth.
What are these
Chains,
Shackles, and
Locks?
Is it your humanity,
Mortality,
The reflection of your face in the ocean,
The notion you will never, can never, be anything other than what you have
become,
Sorrow,
Pain,
The reflection of your face in the eyes of others,
Suffering,
Lack there of?
Should these not make you taller,
Recognizing them stimulate the growth of your soul; give that growth room
to flourish?
Then why do you feel yourself sinking into the dry earth
That might be blown away by a friendly wind,
If ever there existed?
You can only wait,
Straining against your chains as that very action that might weaken them
Draws you farther from the sky, like quicksand sinking.
Hoping the blue will drip towards you,
Sink.
Slowly.
As tears are formed, never quickly
Always a build up of images and feelings.
One never thinks a time is ripe for tears.
For the tiny emblems of weakness that taint your checks
As they proclaim themselves to those who would mock you.
Just flow,
Drip,
Sink.
You pray to whomever may hear you.
Hoping Mercy will come to your call,
Hoping your new desperation has an effect
On the will of
MERCY!
HA.
Child,
You have proven your naivete to the world.
Your weakness.
Your insufficiencies are laid to bear,
Not for the world who loves you not,
But for you.
Only you.
On the back of you eye lids.
You would tear out your eyes
If only your were not bound.
Your crimes.
Your punishment.
And the clear sky drips
Sinks.
You can smell it,
Your freedom.
Clean and crisp.
New and smooth.
It touches the tip of your nose
Lightly and quickly retreats.
Your poison, Filth will not desecrate
This beautiful salvation.
It retreats only for a moment before rushing
On to you in full measure,
As the tide wave forces itself on a pitiful crab.
Your chaffed
Wrist,
Ankles,
And body are freed
From the dissolving chains.
Melting into a powdery dust.
And the sky is still blue.
Where is your poison now,
World?
Where are your
Lies,
Betrayals,
Miseries? I am the forsaken,
But no longer.
Rejoice.
Feelings of light pour through your
Body. Clearing the
Cobwebs. Killing the rats and demons. Erasing
The scratches and scars.
Clean, new, smooth, crisp.
No longer an all consuming blue sky.
Dusky purples,
Rosy pinks,
Velvet greens.
Then no more
The sky ends.
It is flat; there is no more.
On the other side.
Clean blood to spill,
New manacles,
Smooth earth and
Crisp sky.
And with no memory how can one correct the past?
