but it can't be true
im still thinking im with you
but im poor boy soldier
these days are getting older
she had said, dont take my picture out
dont steal a peek at smile
cause when you return it will be worth your while
you ain't seen me in a long long time...
she told me to keep her in my pocket
she would wear in her locket
sweet old memories of me
and i knew, those army boys
who showed the picture
of his sweetheart waiting
for him to return
would never get to see her face again
so she told me
keep my picture in your pocket
savor every memory that will last
