he's the type of boy
you find reading-
he'd rather read,
and forget feeling.

he's the type of boy
you find in plaid-
he'd rather feel sad,
and hide in that.

she's the type of girl
you find dancing-
she'd rather dance,
and regret romancing.

she's the type of girl
you find in wal-mart-
she'd rather make art,
and finish what she starts.

he's the type of boy
who won't give her
a second glance

she's the type of girl
who'll take him up
on that chance

as he looks up from his book,
she smirks and taps her foot.
he's silently wishing a pursuit,
as she cries over what he just won't do.

she's the type of girl
who wakes up to pain.
she'd rather stay the same-
she'll change for no one.

he's the type of boy
who will grow up alone.
he'd rather never know
he missed out on something more.

She missed her chance for change,
he missed his plans by playing.
She missed out on being settled,
and he'll just spout regrets.
They're the type of people
who always fall apart.
Because they'll never push,
they're pulling pity out.
