Daytime Dreams

As the pale moon sets
And the radiant sun rises
Clouds like cotton moving lazily across the sky
I lie, I slumber, on these verdant tides
I dream, until noble Helios, in his golden chariot rides
Taking with him the scintillating hues from out the skies
I dream, until bright Helios once again rides
For each day He comes, and through the sapphire sky he glides
His fast, fiery steeds taking great strides-
And on this grand journey, this daily flight,
Illuminated are the lands by a brilliant light
And the emerald grasses all bend and sway
In a celebration, a dance, to the beauty of the day-
The lake, its surface now placid and clear
Perfectly reflecting that brazen, shining sphere
And a warm breeze, though the lake it does caress
Does not provoke the glassy surface to ripple with distress-

So on the soft green grasses, sweet scented grasses
In the field by a lake made of glass
Surrounded by flowers that loll, dewdrops that gleam
Under burning Helios, I slumber and dream
For it is time for his voyage to come to an end
Sinking into the horizon where his time He will spend
And He takes with him the daytime hues
The bright greens and yellows, and the azure blues
Soon the beautiful moon will rule once more
And the blood roses will again bloom on the shore
And I, I will awake from my daytime dreams
To feel my face once again touched by moonbeams
As the blazing sun sets
And the milky moon rises
I awaken, I wake to see Diana once more
I awaken to find the wondrous Diana shines once more
