All my life I've been pleasing someone
Now it's time for you to see me shine
Listen to what I've got to say
Instead of it always being your way
I want to do things in life without your help
I want to be able to say I'm independent
That I don't need someone to always hold my hand
I love you but I'm growing up so let me go
Let me make my own mistakes instead of your own
Don't tell me not to I'll learn it on my own
You've done a god job raising me but it's my turn
I need to finish teaching myself right from wrong
What you need to do is let me make my decisions
I'll always love you but when you love someone
You need to let them go make their own choice
If you know I can make it on my own
Then you need to sit back an see for yourself
Just how much I've learned what's bad or good
So let me go so cause it's my turn.
