my words fall upon your callous ears
sifted to powder like snow that won't stay
but melts
into the grass where barefeet run and jump and play
cuz hey,
they've been in high heels and dress shoes a little too long
this tie around my neck is just a noose
you've made it a little too tight.
I want out
I want to forget your eyes and smile
and face and hair
and smell
some different air
silly you, silly me to think
that I was on the brink of needing
another non-monthly bleeding
lover
and believe me I don't.
