It was death that took my dear friend away from me,
Sweet, caring, and kind was he.
I wish he never had to go,
For we all loved him so.

He was diagnosed with barkets limphoma,
A very rare disease,
When we found out we all cried,
But at the same time the pain we tried to ease.

The doctors said it was getting worse,
The tumor in his back,
We couldn’t comprehend what was happening,
It all seemed so out of wack.

Then a sign of hope was near,
The tumor was almost gone!
He was now our biggest hero,
Of him we were all fond.

There were showings of him coming back to school,
To us it all seemed very cool.
We missed him so,
And now he could come back and say hello.

All of the sudden,
Out of the blue,
The tumor came back,
And we didn’t know what to do.

Our dear friend was sicker than ever,
Through school these rumors buzzed,
Our hope for him was still there,
For we knew how strong he was.

He said he wanted to stop fighting,
This horrible disease,
That there was a better place for him,
Hearing this was not a breeze.

It was the day before Easter,
That my dear friend was gone,
This was the day we all cried,
That he would never see another dawn.

Please don’t take life for granted,
You never know when it will end,
Live every day like it is your last,
Because it may just be around the bend.

The day he left,
Was almost three years ago,
My very dear friend is now gone,
And we miss him so.

We know he is watching over us,
To this very day,
We love him so very much,
May peace be where he lay.
