This Bitter Path

I wander the world in an overshadowing trance
I gave up my life to love, i took that chance
I knew the risks, and I knew it could kill - but i still
Gave away my heart, and gave up on free will
Was it love or was it not? i question myself constantly
Should i leave behind all i've got, or live without him miserably?
Apathy consumes me, i just don't care anymore
After everything is gone, what's there to live for
Horrible things cross my mind, day by day
Why did i have to listen to him, and throw my life away

I roam the world in a sort of daze
Should love be like this or is this just a phase
Will this pass, and be better once again
Or have we finally reached the end
Will we argue no more, and learn to live together
Will we realize our love and be happy forever
Will you see in me the beauty that i bear
And give me everything i need, and show me you still care
I was willing to love you with every breath i take
But it wasn't supposed to be like this, perhaps it was a mistake

I amble along aimlessly down your road
Wondering why i can't find my own
With this in mind, i feel my soul cry
Shedding the tears of longing, as i slowly die
Where has my life gone, the love i held so dear
The one i gave up my life for, and desired to be near
I may still love you, and I may still care
I may still need you, but you weren't there
It's time for me to be free, to forget all i've ever known
It's finally time for me, to do things on my own

I stroll along this bitter path, i didn't choose
Asking myself why i fell in love with you....
